This diagram is showing all the different parts of the saddle. Below is a image of the saddle channel (underneath).the reason we have saddlesis to suport the rider and it spreads out their weight. It also reduces pain.The best saddles are made from cow and pig leather.Saddles can last upto thirty years if they are well cared for. There are lots of different  saddles and they all have different purposes.

when were saddles invented ?

The earliest saddles were created in 800BC just as asimple pad. They then developed the saddle tree in 200BC and paired stirrups in 302AD. The saddle style we see today date back to the 18th and 19th century.

cleaning tack 

It is very important to clean your tack to get of the mud and dirt so it doesn't cause infections to the horse and so it doesn't rot. You should put on only a little amount of soap after you have given it a thorough clean because if you put on to much it becomes to greasy. You must not put on to much water as the leather will absorb it and srethc. Also don't leave it near direct heat because the leather will dry out  and become brittle.
